We are delighted to tell you that we have been successful in obtaining a grant worth over £30,000 to install an entirely new state of the art heating system in the village Hall. The grant will come from Biffa Awards. The need for a new heating system has been known for years and has been high in customer expectations. It’s all part of our plan to bring the hall into the 21st Century and secure a truly sustainable future.
We are very grateful to all concerned at Biffa and also Coxhoe Community Partnership who have given a 10% public contribution to the works. we are proud of the work put in by our bidding team as without them we would not have been successful.
We will provide further details on our plans for implementation as soon as we can.
Hi it is great news to see that Coxhoe Village Hall is still up and running and providing facilities to people of the village. I’m sure there will be someone who recognises my name or my parents Nancy and Denis and as you know the “village hall” was a big part of my childhood and my second home as my mam was until the last few years involved in most things especially the yearly panto for decades !! I used to love to go to see Joyce in the library with my dad when I was young and in later years as I’m sure some of you will remember Thursday night youth club ran by the great John Egglestone and Mr Pringles !! Happy times I will never forget. I think in this day and age the community spirit is not the same in villages and for village halls and community centres to still survive is rare. I think all past and present village hall committee people should be proud to have maintained, modernised and worked hard to obtain funding to keep this memorable place alive and kicking. I hope that the “village hall” continues to be “the hub” of Coxhoe for many .ore decades. Good luck in all you do in the future.
Kind regards
Julie Stone (nee Gavin)
