We have had a cuple of very different but equally successful events on at the Village Hall over the last few weeks
On Halloween we were delighted that so many joined us for lots of Fun and Games at the Haunted Hall! A great time was enjoyed by all, some excellent Pumpkins and 3 worthy winners for the competition. Brilliant costumes—some really scary! Our first attempt at this free joint event with the Scouts Group who did a great
job of organising games and entertainment , charges only for face painting, refreshments provided by the Village Hall ‘catering team’ and yummy cakes from the Scouts Group.
Durham Constabulary Police Choir Concert was an excellent evenings entertainment much appreciated by the audience. Our thanks to the Choir who raised £290 for Village Hall funds which will be used to purchase equipment for our newly refurbished kitchen.
Peterlee Brass Band Annual Remembrance Concert was then held on Friday 11th November 2016
This has now become an annual fixture in our calendar. We had a rousing start with the Dambusters
March, then a wonderful Glenn Miller solo from Peter, the Soprano Player, of Memories from Cats,
singing by the audience, and Margaret, the Principal Cornet Player, sang some poignant wartime songs.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the concert and said they would be back next year.
