Christmas came early for us when we received an email from M & S Energy Fund.

“Congratulations! With 2889 number of votes, you are the winner of your region. We’re
thrilled to confirm that makes you eligible for the full amount of funding you have applied for from M&S Energy. This year the competition was fierce, and to win, the required amount of engagement with your community to win a region was huge. Your region, particularly, was a close region. All the team here were very impressed by all the stops you pulled out to get that many votes. We’re delighted to be a part of your fantastic energy initiative. Huge congratulations from everyone at M&S Energy.

Thanks to your‘ brilliant ’support we will soon receive £9,966.and be the proud owners of Solar Panels which will produce our own electricity and make substantial savings to our overheads.

During the voting -1st and 2nd places changing almost hourly. We knew that all information would be removed from the M&S Energy website 12 hours before the deadline time of midnight. At 12 noon we had 2560—leading by 1 vote!  The efforts of the community volunteers who worked tirelessly to promote our cause and help get people to vote was incredible. Our supporters were amazing with votes coming in from far and wide! Fantastic team work. Coxhoe Village Hall will definitely have a Greener, Brighter Future!

There was one bit of bad news as we were unfortunately  not winners of their Community Buildings section of the Biffa Annual Award Competition but we are very pleased that Biffa Award, who provided the £31,760 funding for the new efficient heating system, valued our Green Building Project enough to shortlist it.
